3D modeling shoes in zBrush pt. 2
🕑 Added 2021-01-15 20:25:03 +0000 UTCpart 2!
we have our basic shape so in this 20 minute video ...
*it took 29038129382 cuts but I trimmed it down from like almost an hour*
Summary: I make a "shoe last" (a 3-dimensional wooden or plastic mold upon which a shoe is constructed) to mask areas where I want to form the upper of the shoe. I then extract the mask into a new subtool and I do the same for the tongue. From there, I create a new primitive cone shape and append this to the shoe model. I duplicate the cone subtool and place them around 1/2 of the sole and merge them into 1 subtool. Once I have this half, I mirror and weld it so that it wraps around the entire sole.
I go over :
- moving the pivot point
- masking the model
- extracting from the model (into new subtools)
- working with a primitive shape (a cone)
- append a subtool
- duplicating subtools
- merging subtools
- mirroring one side to the other ("mirror and weld")
yes, there is a third and final part and it also needs to be trimmed down to 15-20 minutes but I've already started. Hope to get that on here before January ends :)
