This is probably a stupid question, but are Sarah and Rei twins? I remember reading something in book two that made me think that they were twins. And if that is the case, was she pushed up a grade or was Rei held back because surgeries kept him out of school?

I am enjoying the world building that is occurring, especially the "blurbs" at the beginning of chapters. I enjoy that they are used to hint at the further story and may be related to the following chapter (usually at least indirectly and often directly) In addition I enjoy the thought of a chapter focused on Catcher and an indication of their continued growth both as a character and as a CAD user in this universe. Thank you for the view into your process the story so far

So I’m probably on my fourth read through of the whole entire book free story. I’m wondering a few things. I wonder if the shards are seeds of sentence or which contain sentient codes that sheedo is in planting to maybe help the other cads become more sentient. and on that note, given the fact that there is data sharing between the mind and CADDS throughout seven systems, how sentient are they CAD really? And, could they be hiding that fact from the rest of the world? secondarily, I wonder if there is ever going to be a huge reveal with all of our main characters in one room and Raiden discussing the shard network. That would be an interesting meeting, wouldn’t it? do you know how much the colonel would flip out on that especially? Lol. Number three, I wonder what aria‘s mom‘s reaction is going to be when she finds out that Raiden and his family are quite a bit more wealthy than she? I would love to be a fly on the wall for that one.

I think my speech is synthesizer mangled the first part of chapter 36. Lol it will be interesting to hear Luke read that chapter to find out what it’s supposed to really sound like. :-) I like catcher, cause Luke makes him sound like a surfer dude. He’s one of my favorite characters. :-) From what I can make out of that first part of the chapter, is catcher supposed to have seen Sarah and fallen for her? That’s kind of what it sounds like. Lol.

Regarding Catcher’s field name - I wonder if Dent and the MIND and Wainwright will find a way to make it Greyskull… Bryce is too sneaky and thorough an author for that Easter egg to be just an Easter egg :o)

Bryce, By all that is holy, please have them figure out true capability of Temporal Step soon. I keep waiting for Rei to let his mind wander at just the wrong time and have him end up back in his secondary school CAD fully called in the middle of a class of kids. I like them, serves the worldbuilding and gives insight to the characters but I understand it if you don't. However, the comment about replacing Chancery is very far fetched. We know that Chancery stays with the team at least until school ends, that she gets a sick-ass arena-name with "Dreadlight" and possibly stays with them till the end, since they keep the name Firesong. Why would you even think that Sarah's supposed to replace Chancery?

The blurbs at the beginning of the chapters really destroy the narrative tension. There were some in book 2 from Lennon and Dice that clearly take place after the supposed coming apocalypse. Some talking about Rei and Aria being happily married. Now the one from Chapter 36 announces that Catcher is going to marry Rei's tsundere sister and she is a possible replacement for Chancery on the team after they leave school? In book 1 they served a useful purpose of fleshing out the backstory and depth of the world. But from book 2 the way they've been used doesn't really work. There's foreshadowing and then there's these.

I laugh anytime I see the title for the story so far So I'm guessing a user unique for Catcher then? And not too long after his last. Very interested to see what it is. I saw that Catcher doesn't have a SCT name yet but a part of me would laugh if it did just wind up as Catcher. Maybe not too cool though. Also not sure if that quote is possibly in reference to someone in the current class or if that happens to be Sarah's SCT title.
