Especially after her comment about “killing him” I cannot wait to see if she will approach him and say she hates her parents too or hates him for existing lol SO many juicy ways this can go!

Thanks for the chapter, but is there any chance we could get a consolidated "the story so far"? Please? I've absolutely no idea anymore which chapter read in which order (last read chapter for me was 25 or so...)

I’m going to go out on a limb here with a wild guest on who asked for the ‘update’. Valera Dent. In chapter 15 the brain and neuro scans were classified top secret with the contact person being Valera Dent. I could be totally wrong, but it’s possible

It makes more sense to me that it's Kalus' father -- who's acting as a conduit for General Abel. That's the only thing that works (to me) given Bryce's wording of the messages. Unless it's yet another player that we're unaware of.

What a wonderful conundrum. I’m assuming that the ‘will they be ready in time’ comment refers either to the imminent end of civilization as they know it or inter systems which does not yet seem to have been announced more broadly. If it is the first that says that Kalus has been read in on something known only to a few people including his father. Given what his father discovered about Aria and Rei when he visited he might well have decided to keep an eye on them through Kalus and the informality of Kalus’s remark about ‘almost raising children’ leads me to think it is him. But that is partly because I like the Kalus character and while I think even assisting his father is despicable assisting General Abel would be much worse. Another possibility is that the Mind has revealed itself to Kalus but that seems unlikely to me as it would not need cloak and dagger address strings for messages.

Thank you for this, it flows better and makes the addition of Dice to the training team work much smoother, with a demonstration on what was needed both emotionally as well as training wise for Viv to get back to full power.

I love to new content, but honestly, I don't think this needs to be a whole new chapter. I think that this could be included in the end of the current chapter regarding Dice's intro to the training group with a simple statement from either Viv or Dice saying something like "now that we've become friends, let's show this guy what we can do"

Can see Dice yelling out ^%$@! the first time EndWalker goes off and that mummyHead appears right next to you. I wonder if Viv and Rei will keep their user uniques under wraps until they really need them in intersystems - though with the instructors ingraining them in - may be too tough to hold back.

This is a very good addition. I am still not sure who Kalus is conversing with exactly. There are so many potential baddies in this book. it could be several people we have heard of and previously seen. The conversation increases the tension but makes Kalus a more beloved player. I like him more each time he appears. Aria’s siblings are good people, which is surprising with an uppity witch for a mother and an absent father.
