ok so I'm new to the whole pre-release chapters thing and I'm seeing multiple versions of a chapter. do they actually replace the previous version or are they meant to continue on?

Are CADs turning Humans into Archons? With bits of the CADs being in the brainstem of the user (the shard being different as its part of someone else's CAD) and that the offspring of CAD users have a higher chance of getting a CAD than non CAD users. Take Fire Song of the six of them only 2 don't have a parent/grandparent who is a User those being Viv and Cashe. You have to wonder if the children of two CAD users, which can perfect Genes and lay down technorganic neuro pathways would they be closer to Archons than Humans? and if so is that a good or bad thing in the long run?

Globals isn't cancelled they are just not going to add the first years to it as there aren't enough world with strong enough first years to make worth while. but yeah they haven't announced that first years are joining Systems and Intersystems yet

I may need yo go through 3 again but was thinking today and realized they haven't officially announced Globals being canceled plus first years in Systems and Intersystems, right? I feel like that'd probably get one of those big gatherings in the Arena for the announcement or at least one for the current first year teams.

that WAS the intention of that insertion (pretty spoiler free so okay saying this). i didn't want Rei to be the only Ward that ever appears in-world given how "common" it's supposed to be, and I wanted the Edgewarden to loop her status as a ward of the state into her Arena name to make sure it was clear wards can be anything too. -Bryce

Hey Everybody!! New Fanboy here. Big fan of the series obviously. Just spent every waking moment of my Christmas Eve smashing through chapters 1 -28. Bryce your awesome bro! Im a gamer and love how these stories give me a RPG feel, with the CADs ranking up with "experience". Now the waiting game commences *sigh*. Cant wait to read more!! Doing a Christmas read of "The Story So Far" and I noticed in chapter 7 Rei mentions a former Galens student and Astra System champion "the Lancer Clementine ‘Edgewarden’ Ward". Any chance she was a ward of the state as well? I checked books 1 and 2 and could not find any mention of her. Thoughts? Info I missed?

I’ve been re-reading the 1 to 27 document, and there’s been some very worthwhile changes in there! Tweaks to conversation flow and stuff, making it way better than it already was. And Wainwright’s arena name has officially been changed to Jetstream. Definitely a much better name, and I can see why she was brought in - speed kills and if she’s a Lancer with extraordinary speed for her type then that’ll prove useful for sure!

I guess "more artificial", given that all CAD evolution is artificial in the general sense. So essentially this is a kind of evolution that the CAD is purposefully hiding from the reporting functionality but not from the user. If so that's an interesting if slightly convoluted plot tool, that indicates vastly growing intelligence, if Shido is hiding it's external activity.

The C6 rank is a bit funky. Seems like the S0 growth jump gets the average to ~C9. Is Bryce planning some instant 3 rank increase on next Cad activation or did I miss calculate?

So glad I found this patreon today(ahem 2 am, so really yesterday 😂), but someone should find Bryce to give him the Cultivation Chat Group treatment so Christmas can pop off 👉👈 This is a joke, love ya Bryce only problem was the random redactions, Like (in latest story so far 1-27) von Bor listing off Team Firesongs ranks as C? or Rama Guest saying XXXX XXXXXXX in place of a name.. for some reason thought he was talking about Major Reese as he ended the sentence saying he'd like to see the major try it, but that doesn't make sense in the context. BUT! I can understand why they are there. Either ya can't remember the ranks (or haven't decided if they should have ranked up at some point especially with the new full reveal what shido is doing) in one case and (maybe?) bringing up some random new name out of nowhere or just want to leave a little surprise for the release? Idk, but you write awesome stories and the world's they contain. P.S. when I first found this series within the week of Iron Prince coming out I didn't realize I knew some of your previous works until the comment from Razielle “Monster” Arroh as a chapter heading

Halfway through reading I predicted exactly where it would end. So I guess they did tell her everything. A bit surprised there wasn't more of a reaction given Viv's thoughts on the sponsorship though perhaps they explained or she just wasn't super concerned. I don't think Rei has told anyone else besides Aria yet but I could see him telling Viv next about the confirmations he got.

I knew before reading that I was not going to find out about Viv’s ability, but that didn’t stop my brain from falling a part when I got to the end of the chapter. The addition was amazing. Now the wait begins again.

Well damn! I wonder when Rei will figure out how to get that interface to work… and I’m glad the team has realised that S is above S9 and has no designation :o) I’m not sure who knows about the shard - I think it was just Dent and Ashton. But do they know about Viv’s growth spec now? And I like Imbue! Wonder if Dent will have the other members of Firesong get a brain scan? I doubt anyone else is needed, because Shido hasn’t learned a relationship designator between ‘random oik’ and ‘blood bonded teammate’ :o) Thanks for the early Christmas present Bryce. Enjoy the holiday, and we’ll find out how much Gemela grew and what Endwalker does next time :o) One thing though - Wainwright’s arena name is Jetway, though Jetstream is better in my opinion :oD
