Let's talk SSD performance (M.2) and how it improved our game(s)!
🕑 Added 2020-09-20 19:46:56 +0000 UTCAs I have mentioned before, I have been stressed out and irritated for nearly two years now... Because of how slow DAZ assets were to load. Even a single character took ages (for my liking) let alone a full scene with 6 characters clothed, and an entire room.
Like the 0.3 last update, where we left of with the waifu selection. That sort of scene would be like "Hit load and go for a nap" And now, I can actually sit here and wait 1-3 minutes tops for the whole thing to be loaded and responsive.
Bottom line: Despite me working and being unable to do much from Monday to Wednesday.
I was able to get 60 renders done and one animation in the last two days, thanks to the many hours saved from assets loading faster as well as scenes when I need them 2. So, once I am able to return to this full-time again, we are def going to be getting some boost to content quantity by simply going from HDD ----> M.2.
That may not sound like a lot of renders, but consider the time it takes to set up the poses, then the 10-15 minutes per render depending on close-up or further out camera zoom and you get 60 x 25 minutes on average.
Anyhow, back to work for a few more hours and then rinse repeat, hopefully I can get enough done from Friday to Sunday to make up for lost hours from half the week gone.
