I have some great news! (Sarcasm) Patreon will now tax some of you.
🕑 Added 2020-05-18 16:58:41 +0000 UTCApparently life wasn't hard enough for us devs who are barely getting by with what we do make. Now people are going to have to pay taxes if they want to get rewarded for their loyalty.
Like, getting a mug or a shirt, poster, hoodie... Yeah, those things? They will now tax you for and the best part? We devs are not allowed to cover the cost (absorb the cost) of said 3-11% tax in the price of the tier. It is apparently illegal.
I think it is time for me to start looking for other ways to get paid. On the bright side, those of you who "skip" the so called reward per tier will apparently be spared of taxes. Also, not everyone will be taxed, depending on country, state/province etc.
Anyhow, I wanted you to hear it from me first, so it doesn't sneak up on you. Please read from the link above if you care and feel free to give patreon shit all day long.
