Production Update 11/21/23
🕑 Added 2023-11-22 00:24:43 +0000 UTCHowdy y'all. Times movin' too quick and I feel like I just can't keep! I've been workin' hard finishing the script and getting the BG's to a presentable state, so, thanks for hanging with me! This updates taking longer than I'd like.
Writing update:
65k. Written, edited, done. I can move onto coding as soon as I do a final pass and make sure everything reads well, but it should go without saying this is a crazy amount of script. Each character has at least 20k of their own, while some parts are partially mirrored across all of their routes. It was a lot of work but I'm happy with the results. And, for what it's worth, I think this is some of the best writing so far.
Art update:
Six of the nine planned BG's and CG's are lined and ready to be implimented, with the other three already planned out, but not sketched. I've really wanted to create a better visual language for the carain and the station, and while I'm still having a hard time with that, I hope that the common themes in these bg's help push that idea further. I really want to improve the bg's in the VN, and having set ideas and motifs really helps with that.
Music update:
Good news bad news. I've commissioned some more new music for the VN, it won't make it for this update, but I have high hopes it will be very good. Bad news is this update may only have one new song, if any. The music I had commissioned for this update is taking a bit too long and not coming out the way I would have liked. While I would like to believe that you come and read my work for the story, not the music, I am still upset it will not be ready in time. I apologize if anyone was looking forwards to it.
Life update:
I'm burnt out. Only way to say it really. I've had to get a part time job to help pay rent/start paying off my student debt and I have already moved this month, and will be moving again next month, as my family and I look for more permanent housing. I'm working on the update as much as I can but its getting harder to create it at the quality I would like in the time frame I believe is acceptable. Taking six months for one update is a bit too long, I'd much rather release short updates every two months or something.
Sorry this isn't the most exciting update, but I would feel worse if I left everyone kind enough to donate to me out of the loop. I'm going to make sure the update come out this year, but even then still feels too long, heh. Thank you for sticking with me, I couldn't do it without you.
