I’ve been wondering about this too. When Sarah says “I’m going to kill him” it’s not entirely clear who she is referring to. I tend to agree that it’s most likely her father, but I could also come up with a case that she means her grandfather. What if Sarah believes what Hiroto somehow influenced the assignment of Shido to Rei (that lingering mystery of how Kamiya influenced early CAD development) and she is jealous that it wasn’t her. There’s even an outside chance it’s Rei although given her parents reaction to her transfer that seems least likely. I’m not feeling this is going to be the super supportive big sis for Rei regardless.

I wondered that... why not come at Rei straight up and honestly? Why the games? I never got that, as surely honesty is the best policy. Sure it might mean a longer road to forgiveness, but playing games might piss Rei off even more and thus backfire.

If Hiroto is as traditional as I get the feeling he is, Sarah is probably too. So I would imagine she'd want to get to know her little brother, and if nothing else look out for him. I wouldn't put 'overbearing big sis' out of the question :D Stoked to see Kalus get involved too!

I'm thinking that Sarah should actually be pretty chill with Rei. Based on the description of her reaction to finding out about him, I'm guessing she was aware that he existed, but had been told that he had died at birth or something along those lines. I'm guessing that this lead to her, during her probably lonely childhood, wondering what could have been if he had been alive, and, now that he is, being pissed off at her father for lying.

They said she put in for the transfer so this might not be Central or Hiroto at all. This might just be all her decision. I could see Hiroto being just as surprised as her parents. He specifically mentioned wanting to keep her out of this for the time being and Jasper telling her did not seem to be on Hiroto's orders.

The bigger question here is why would Sarah transfer to Galens? As outlined clearly at the end of book 2, Galens isn't the best school available. Therefore, assuming Sarah is transferring there, who is orchestrating it? Central or their grandfather?

Yea, I was trying to play devil's advocate myself. I mean, most everyone has probably done something they are not particularly proud to admit. As much as I loath what little we know about them so far, I see how they might choose something like this as the best possible path in their universe.

Thinking on it more, I can probably see why Rei's parents did what they did. They don't really seem all that much the type for hands-on parenting given their proclivities and a child with Rei's disease would be both a potential embarrassment and time sink for all his treatments compared to Sarah who by all accounts is healthy. I'd be curious to see how close she is with them at all or if she perhaps is closer to nannies or her Grandfather. She at least seemed to know Jasper well enough. Granted I could be off, but just looking at what we get here I wouldn't be surprised.

From the sound of it they haven't talked and Keiji and Samantha have been putting it off. It looks like that's not going to work any longer though and the two are about to go off to speak with him finally.

i think even if she isnt the strongest on her team (which i doubt) i think her stats will still be VERY good for a second year if the team did so well at team battles, She could kick rais ass easily atm would be my guess

We don’t really know how strong Sarah is. We only know her team got runner up in team battles as second year but nothing about her individually. It seemed like she was the strongest on her team by the others attitudes but that could have also been Jasper. I don’t think she will pose much of a threat to Rei other than being a reminder of his abandonment. Rei would have the home field advantage for a while if she transfers. I would love to see them team up but don’t want to see any of his team change. I can’t wait to see the parents reactions to finding out who he has become. So much to look forward to in this book. I don’t know how you’re going to fit in in unless there’s going to be more than 3 books. I hope there will be.

Her parents seem like hedonists to a degree that indulge in the money. I'm surprised they even care much about Sarah but maybe it's an image thing or they do care in some fashion Also it sounds like they haven't had that meeting with Hiroto yet. So they likely don't know about Rei Sarah potentially transferring to Galens is fascinating. Partly because she may be leaving behind her squad and friends but I'm very interested in seeing how she interacts with Rei. Also if she's a second year I wonder if she'll run afoul of Sidorov
