I’m so glad it was a short chapter last Friday! The whole weekend (to include Friday) was a mad rush of preparation and execution for a huge party. I smoked two full packer briskets, one pork shoulder, a turkey and ten racks of ribs as well as from scratch baked beans and elote style corn (for 50 people) for a backyard party. It was the first time I’ve had both my grills and the blackstone all fully loaded and going at the same time. So the brief reprieve was appreciated! I just wished I had a speed spec to engage!!! Lol

Yeah, as an army retiree the ISCM ranks push the odd button on occasion. BUT then I put it into the perspective of it’s a completely different military structure as it seems to go from our current enlisted structure to warrant and finally to the commissioned structure as the ranks progress. So I’ve just chosen to suspend my “knowledge” with the book’s reality.

Ok... Just realized this could be looked at as a way someone wanted to give ideas on how the story should go. I'm really just trying to sort it in my brain if I remember it or it's all imagination so I'll wait until such a time as it comes out on its own...

I have never heard/seen/read anything that you are mentioning. So I guess it might be your imagination (I mean this not in a bad way). I’ve had multiple times where I thought certain things already happened, but it was all in my dreams or daydreams.

I'm talking about the exact one he accepted in these last few chapters. Like I said I recall reading Iron Prince back in 2021. I am only trying to find out if there was an earlier draft of book 2 that was out around august-november or so in 2021 as there are events I remember reading that take place later in the story than this draft currently is at.

Sooo.... I have a question. Was book 2 completely rewritten at one point? I read book one back in August of 21 and I think I read what was available for book 2 sometime after. I just finished getting caught up on book 2 again and while most of it was very familiar there was a lot of expansion on many aspects and missing many more. For example I recall some details (will not spoil them) of what happens during the systems with some characters we have only briefly met and Rei having already had the sponsorship we see he accepted in these last few chapters. Did I imagine it way back when and just happened to share a brain with the author or was it published in a much much rougher draft back then? Or did the original version of book 1 include that stuff and was edited out in later copies (hence updated out on kindle copies)?

Klaus, I think we will all be looking forward to your training the team. I’m sure we’ll see Rei’s sister in the next tournament and maybe we’ll get to meet his mother and father so we can hate them more. I’m looking forward to Rei meeting his grandfather and understanding that he was not abandoned by everyone, that someone was looking for him.

There was a previewed Vivilogue paragraph earlier. Guess this puts us at 61 chapters plus epilogue(s). The call to Laurent on his spaceship bumping the last 10 chapters up 1. (?) Though I guess in full book editing some materials may get combined, separated, or recombobulated somehow.

It sucks that book two has to end here, was hoping that we would make it to summer atleast but seeing the pace of the book while reading I knew that wasn't going to happen, still I'm excited for this one anyway. When can we expect book three early access to start?
