Because he doesn't "know" that for a fact. He believes it, but it's unconfirmed. Rei also doesn't know that his grandfather just found him. So he has to consider the possibility that his family have known where he was the entire time and have simply chosen to ignore him until now. In which, he also has to question "why now?"

Of course this wish of mine does not take into account any of the work still to be done to properly edit book 2 and publish it properly in full book format. It also does not take into account any other subjects like other work to be done or even real life..etc. However I can but hope!..(smile)

As book 2 draws to a conclusion, I can only hope (from a selfish personal perspective) that the commencement of book 3 will be not too far off into the future.

From Rei’s perspective it’s probably smarter if he doesn’t. After all he believes that his family only offered this sponsorship to manipulate and control him now that he could be useful to them. He has no idea about Hiroto and why he’s actually offering the sponsorship, so from Rei’s point of view it would be better if he didn’t let them know that he’s caught on to what’s really happening

Pretty sure someone's working with her late so people don't know she can leave with permission but she can leave in anything but dress uniform she was probably headed to one of the centers to train with whoever dent got for her when she asked for it after sectionals

I was hoping he would push for firesong sponsorship... Even before there was a firesong... It's so inline with how the thinks. One of the intros in book 1 spelled it out... By himself he would've quit long ago... It was the people around him that made it possible. The worst thing he could do is allow central or anyone to isolate him... that's not his success story. Kudos Bryce... Very well done.

I think she might of asked Dent for access after hours to the training rooms, and didn't tell any of the team except for maybe Grant. Maybe even night training from Dent. She would try her hardest to improve before she would leave Grant and Rei.

To be fair that wasn't his idea. It was Aria's. And he straight up said his head gets fuzzy around her plus being tired and stressed. Critical thinking in that moment was at an all time low. Though I guess he did have clarity afterwards to go and talk to Jasper lol

The writing was on the wall for this move. I'm more inclined to believe that Jasper applied her political clout and central was in all since it aligns with their intentions. Don't be surprised if Jasper calls Granddad and says, "It's done." I'm more interested in what's going on with Viv...
