I agree but I’m not sure that’s worse than being tossed in the waste basket and living as an orphan for 18 years then the family comes slinking back when Rei gains a modicum of notoriety. 🤷♂️

So far it’s ok. Someone decides whether they will be a dick or not. Sure there will be slips but I think the decision point is going a bit long. Personally I think it would be optimal for Grant to hear Rei’s full history and ask advice for his current “family problem”. I feel certain the two guys with the ultimate family problems can find common ground.

thanks a lot, wow what a nice way to start the weekend! really satisfying to see Grant speak up on Rei's behalf there, and Reese getting put in his place NEVER gets old. Although - and this is just me - I feel like Grant having such strong character growth/reflection feels a bit abrupt (as much as I like it). It feels like *something* would've needed to happen to prompt that. Maybe that's just me. Also the way that Rei's actions get explained here feel a bit like rationalization after the fact. We're in his head when he decides to humiliate the guy publicly - and it sounded to me like he was really just sick of shit like that (who wouldn't be?) and wanted to kick his ASS! So... spinning it as a calculated move afterwards - I don't know. All that being said, I love being in Dent's head. I really love the dynamic with her and Kestrel and the mind - it just... clicks for me. The way they discuss and speculate about where things are going is just such a nice way to get in their heads! And the FORESHADOWING! *Chef kiss*

Kittens indeed. Love the new info on theories and the fact that the MIND is actually having a hands on take to Rei's path, rather than observing and letting nature take its course. Will need to remember this on the next re-read to see if there have been other 'alterations' that appeared random or by someone else. Great chapter, keeps on getting better and better!

Maaaaan, Reese is going to be a problem... I don't see him staying away and not causing problems after Dent publicly rebuked him.
