Prologue: I Am the Only One Beside the Fallen Grand Duke's Daughter
🕑 Added 2025-05-13 20:43:01 +0000 UTCAh, I Was Picked Up.
I didn’t want to live, but I sure as hell didn’t want to die like this.
This game world is seriously fucked up.
It’s not like I asked for this kind of second life, either.
But even so, did I really have to die in such a miserable way?
Is it not absurd for a child—not even ten years old—to freeze to death, shredded by snow and wind?
Yeah. At the very least...
At the very least...
Whoosh—
“Agh… aaah…”
However, the blizzard raged as if even the sound of my voice disgusted it.
The brutal blade wind of the far North.
Despite my pleas, the god of storms showed no mercy.
My young skin was being relentlessly, mercilessly torn apart by the savage ice wind.
A scrawny boy’s body, who hadn’t eaten or slept properly in days.
There’s no way I could’ve endured any longer.
Resigned to that fate, I quietly prepared to surrender myself to death.
And then—
“…Goodness. Still alive, are you? Can you speak?”
That’s when I met ‘her’.
The snowstorm blurred everything so badly that I couldn’t even make out who it is.
But I could at least tell that a girl with deep blue hair was reaching out her hand to me.
She was small like me.
Surely just a child, around ten years old at most.
At the brink of death, I felt her hand reach for me.
Her skin like ice, but somehow felt like sunlight.
“Don’t worry. You won’t die.”
Despite her tiny frame, she gave her all to save me.
“For it is I, Karalin von Vitagarte, who has found you.”
There was no deceit in her.
Just the pure goodwill of a noble who truly cared for her people.
Yes.
That’s why I forgot.
Forgot the infamy that name carried, that flickered across my mind the moment I saw her face.
Karalin von Pralbert.
The Grand Duchess of the North, destined to fall into ruin, lose all she once held dear, and become a solitary figure despised by the world.
And in the end, corrupted beyond redemption, she would be reborn as a high-ranking cadre of the Demon King’s army, staining the world with the sulfur of hell.
Ain’t it grand to be inside a game world?
You already know who’s who.
You already know what future lies ahead.
But none of that matters now.
This world cast aside someone as weak as me and tried to kill me.
But only she reached out to me.
Since she was the one who pulled me back from death—
Then I, Kim Yohan, will stand beside her and bring her happiness.
Such is the natural order of things in this world.

[EPIC SKILL: Ghost That Devours Iron]
When it touches iron, it devours the soul within. The iron, stripped of its soul, crumbles without a trace, allowing you to wield the power of those entities.

An Epic Skill that renders all sorts of cold weapons and armor utterly useless gleamed within my grasp.
