Yes, when a violent crime is involved, the police can act and arrest, even if the victim doesn't want to press charges. It may be harder to gather evidence if the victim is non-cooperative, but it can (and often is) done.

I saw a comment above about the police not having the authority to act, unless the victim presses charges. Well, that's bulls**t! If a man - no, I correct myself, two men - says he was druged and attacked, that should be probable cause for the police to intervene, and perhaps save the life of the next not-so-lucky one, wich was exactly the case. You take care of yourself and of Charlie, whom we already seem to know - and tell us how is doing on the next video. Love ya!
