April, Thank you. Do you know why? Has there been a study of these Killers of Women that tell us Why these men have such a need to Kill Women? What is it that allows Anyone to think of us as disposable and murder-able as a grouping in Society? I was the Survivor of a vicious assault and rape twenty years ago. I fought like my life was going to end if I did not do damage to him. I’m a 1st degree black belt in Aikido and he was just out of prison on parole, 235 lbs of muscle and had a gun. I spent 18 years in Psychiatric care and still have flashbacks. I just don’t get it which plagues me. My Dr told me for 18 years I did nothing wrong but what is it about us that provokes this hatred in men? I was in my own home and he broke in. Why? Why can’t we be left alone in Peace to live our lives and why doesn’t society know that, never mind the physical damage we endure but the mental and emotional destruction of us never, ever goes away. What do they think is so okay about hurting or killing us? Mikie has helped me which may sound macabre to some but I do feel fortunate to have lived and I also am able to hear with his style that I am not alone. And I am lucky. I pray for all people of violent crimes and I pray we find a way to end this need to abuse and harm, torture and even kill women. Thank you April for writing.
