That happens more often then we suppose. A famous case is the one of Emperess Elizabeth (Sissi) of Austria-Hungary, who was stabbed on her back while on a pier, and then continued walking and boarded the ship awaiting, and then finally died, to the surprise (and consternation, of course) of everyone around her.

I have heard this case before and it always strikes me about the father going through his morning routine, the steely inner resolve and just the remarkable fortitude and stamina people have instilled in themselves in getting up and somehow managing to start and go through the grind day after day after day no matter how they're feeling, no matter how much they wish they could sleep in, no matter the issues they'd rather not face and in this case even after he was dead.
