I took that that he was reminding them to at a minimum lock your doors. College age kids are notorious for thinking they are invincible. There had already been one reported and likely publicized sexual assault at the nearby campus. He was probably also feeling pretty impotent at that point. He’s got every parent as well as the University breathing down his neck and there is a missing 19 year old.
