I don't NOT believe for one second that Cat was a victim of any sort in this story. P.S. - I couldn't help myself and laugh when you mentioned the heat wave: 30º Celsius? That's a normal summer day for us, here in Portugal... Even the 100F in Sacramento, that I found via temperature conversor is equivalent to 37,7º C, we have that every summer, for days in a row. You all should have to deal with 47ºC (roughly 116F) like we did last friday - now, THAT's a heat wave!

This was sad... Lizzie seemed such a happy, lively girl... She was possibly overtrusting in her friendship, and they took advantage of that. By the way, contrary to the opinion of most people here, I believe Kat was really sorry, and horrified for the part she took on the murder - as for no tears, it IS possible to cry with no tears, only sobbing, and she was violently doing so.

Poor Lizzie and her family. Not only the devastation of losing her but they also have to live knowing what that effed up piece of shit did to her. Kat got off easy - she deserved more than 4 years. I would consider Kat a victim if she had unwittingly found herself in a controlling and abusive relationship. Instead she signed up to be controlled and could have walked at any time. She may not have known he was going to kill her but she’s lying if she says she was completely surprised he did it. She knew what he planned for her sexually and did she really not think past that? After he did what he wanted did she think Elizabeth would just leave and that’s the end of it?

The letter he wrote before events prove that she knew what he was planning, whether or not she believed he would actually go through with it. The visit from the friends was weird.
