Hey, we had those from Liverpool too- remember the big photos of cats on them? I went on the one with a blue cat and the ginger cat one. Sounds like you’re a lot younger than me though- I remember them as booze cruises! I went to the Isle of Man on it too. I was in plaster though, so had to stay seated the whole time because they were so bumpy- plus one of the engines stopped working on that trip, so it was even worse. You were looking out the window and just saw sky, then nothing but sea the next second. It was awful- everyone was seasick on that one- didn’t put us off though! Good memories eh?

Definitely off topic but when I heard "Seacat" I immediately thought of that big boat that used to take passengers over to Scotland back in the good old glory days of the 1990s. Mike might actually recall that one too. It was like a high speed catamaran ferry.. hence SeaCat. I think demand dwindled as air travel got more frequent and less expensive and eventually the company became defunct. But I'll always remember it as big part of the 90s here. It was always advertised on the TV.. clips of the big ship sailing across the Irish sea. It looked amazing to my childhood self who had never been on a ship before. I recall back in school just having been on the SeaCat was a huge thing.. along with typical mid-90s superpowers like having seen Batman Forever, getting a McDonald's Happy Meal, having a Pringles box filled with Pogs and being able to do the Marcarena dance. 🤣 There was sort of a cool kids club for those who had been on it. I don't think I was ever on it.. come to think of it. Sorry, folks.. I'm forgetting this is a True Crime channel and not a 90s nostalgia one!

There used to be a catamaran service in the 90s between Liverpool and Dublin that was called the Seacat. It was brilliant- fast and dirt cheap. I had a few days out in Dublin thanks to that. Wish they were still running….
