Ivs seen a few different docs on this it makes me sick that she wasn't taken seriously but unfortunately as someone who has had An experience like this with a ex it's still happening daily that women aren't taken seriously till this happens

Poor sweet Alice, she really was let down by those who should have helped. I've also experienced lack of support from the police regarding stalking and violence. However, there are also good police - the last time I needed help I had the fortune to come into contact with a professional and sympathetic officer. Stalking sends shudders down my spine... My violent ex is still stalking me 18 years on. Thank goodness we live on different continents. These sick individuals still hold a fantasy about you belonging to them. I hope soon he'll give up. His voicemails sound so much like my husband, it’s really chilling. “I’m so sorry, I just need to know what’s happening, I need to know you’re ok” it’s always about them and their loss of control. I’d find out he’d been watching my house to see if I had anyone coming or going, he’d stalk my social media, send messages through mutual friends when I blocked him. I ended up emigrating to get away from him, we’re still married because I don’t want to risk him finding out my address through the courts. He was abusive for 22 years (I was 16 when we met, 38 when I ran) but I won’t raise our daughters to think that what he did was love.

2020 -He was trying to get transferred serve his sentence in India .....which the family were trying to stop as given corruption in that country he would likely be released far short of the 22 year minimum . .

There are lots of theories about Nikki being involved but honestly, I dont think she was. They did sale the house. The market here is so crazy that even a murder house sold for 25 percent over asking price. People still put stuff like teddy bears and flowers at the home and the new owners are cool about it being there.

Despite everything Alice had gone through at the point she called the police, she sounded as though she didn’t want to make a fuss so the police (man) didn’t take her seriously. As women we are taught that we shouldn’t make a fuss or ‘blow things out of proportion’ as a result when we try to raise things politely it is ignored. Make a fuss. Demand the necessary attention. When you see a red flag do what you need to do. Look out for yourself because as has been proved so often, the authorities don’t care. Only today was Sabina Nessa in the news again (for being largely ignored in the media), Sarah Everard, and sadly many others. 😢

As I understand it, the focus of the U.K. criminal justice system is rehabilitation rather than punishment. I think that’s why they tend to place these decisions in the hands of the parole boards. In the most severe cases, they tend not to get out e.g. Peter Sutcliffe, Myra Hindley etc. That said, there are plenty who shouldn’t have been released but were. It can be pretty frustrating.

This one is truly heart-breaking. Not to say that any other tragedy in Mike’s videos isn’t just as sad, but the fact that he knew her concerns about crazy boyfriends killing their exes, he even quoted that she wanted to live and he took her life anyway, is what really makes this story sad. That, and the fact that this could have been prevented if the police took her concerns seriously.

I always think it's funny in the UK, these really heinous crimes, the perpetrators always seem to get a sentence allowing parole after like 20 some years. I think they HAVE an equivalent of effectively life without parole but they never seem to mete it out.
