The trial is a joke, the defense has cross examined one witness so far and the prosecution had called probably 10 people so far. Granted I'm only on day 3 of the trial so far, but the defense is absolutely lost. Nothing to say, nothing to rebut, nothing to argue, just a few weak objections. It would be laughable if it wasn't so heartbreaking. 💔

Watch the trial. :-( These people were surrounded by loving family and friends. They were deeply loved and respected and their disgusting turd of a son not only brutally murdered and betrayed his parents in the worst way imaginable, he also wreaked havoc and heartache on countless others. The ripple effect of his actions is unfathomable. Absolutely horrendous.

I know people seemed a bit peeved that the defense didn’t really put up a fight, but I was thinking how hard it must be to try to even defend someone you know is absolutely guilty. I felt for that defense. I’m sure they were probably cringing at their opening statement as well.

The defense can only work with what he gives them. If he had made up a story about self-defense, than his defense could have worked with that. If he had sworn he was somewhere else and not at home, then the defense could work with that. If he doesn't talk to his defense or give them any explanation--then all the defense can do is what we saw. The defense can't (or at least isn't supposed to) just make up stuff, they can only build a case around what their client tells them.

I watched this whole trial. Jury came back in 30 min. And I watched a news report somewhere that said he'd confessed during that interrogation which is why the cut the video right at the confrontation part... the good part! Fair trials and all that

Interesting case, Mike. I think I’m waaaaay too lazy, and not smart enough to be a criminal. (And I have a degree, this guy only went to one semester!) I work nights and sometimes I listen to these more than I watch them, but it's still wonderful to listen to and then I get to watch them over again when I want more detail. I'm amazed at how much detail you pack into the shorter episodes. It always amazes me when you produce a longer episode because there's so much detail already. Just following on what Bluff said, here in the USA it gets weird dependent on the state. For example in NY, a small town can be called a town, a village or a hamlet. Like the hamlet of Hewlett has 6800 people. And the nearby town of Hempstead has about 768,000. That's a pretty big town. In Virginia, a city is usually a separately incorporated are distinct from the country it is in... and the cities can be below 10000 people.
