I also grew up and live in a small town. It’s so common. We do lock our doors these days. But growing up we never did and never thought anything about it. I know people who still don’t.

Not to advertise it but I live in a small town where it's very common for folks to not lock their houses and cars. It's definitely better to be safe than sorry but I think unlocked doors are more common than you'd think, especially if you don't live in or near a big city. That's why it always bothers me when they say there was "no forced entry" because that doesn't necessarily mean anything

I never understand how and why people don’t LOCK YOUR DAMN DOORS! Furthermore get ring cam, alarms… people are freaks. So many murders/assaults can be prevented this way.
