I'm originally from Kalamazoo and was back there on a visit when this crap happened. I'm very familiar with all the places and when the lady said she was on Business Loop I couldn't help but say "It's Stadium Drive!" - Mike, there was also a murder at Stadium Discount Laundry in Kalamazoo. That place used to be open 24/7 and there was this cool old guy who worked there, Daniel McNeill who was killed there. (Pisses me off he died like that) He came off as sorta grumpy, but he was actually very funny to me. One day I put a quarter in a dryer and it didn't start so I tried again. When it didn't work I told Dan and he said "Whaddo wastin' your money for? " I miss that guy.

This is crazy. I live in Kalamazoo and my husband knew the poor guy who was car shopping for his son. We were planning on going to Cracker Barell but changed our minds. Why in the holy hell did his crazy wife not alert the authorities when he grabbed more guns? She knew something was going to happen, he told her to watch the news. 911 didn't seem to give a shit either. They brushed all the calls off. Unreal. So tragic. I don't remember him having his dog in the car. I'm not finished with the video but I hope the poor doggie is okay.

I'm inclined to agree, or at least keep an open mind on this. I'm not familiar with schizophrenia personally, but medical science has only figured out how approx 20% of our brain works, and what we know of the brain now offers endless possibilities in terms of diagnosis and treatment. I'm Type 2 bipolar, and it took me over a year for my arsed-up brain to react to a medical treatment that lets me function. I think it could be possible for an adult-onset mental health illness to manifest. Would be interesting to see what Dalton's psych assessment results were :)

I hate, HATE this man with a passion. All of that harm and death and destruction he caused. That poor woman who found the strength to testify at the trial went through months of healing and surgeries and was still walking with a cane at that time. And, there he is, putting on an act in the courtroom, further traumatizing her and diminishing her pain as well as the deaths of the other innocent people he slaughtered. Whew! This one gets me hot. I actually kind of believe he is crazy. Although I am medicated and have not seen the inside of a hospital in years, I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia about 12 years ago, and believe me when I say that you can go from normal to crazy in a milli-second. However, I do not believe he was paranoid schizophrenic, but perhaps he had disassociated personality disorder with tendencies of paranoia, or, split personalities, which would explain why his memory was "spotty". He may have had microscopic hints of losing touch with reality leading up to this, but so small that it seemed only slightly off. Or maybe he had a tumor as was previously mentioned. I am not sure, but his claims seem to sound legit, and this is because before I was medicated, my claims were pretty fucked up also, just sayin.

is there EVER any way of knowing if somebody is mentally ill and doing vile things that they normally wouldn't do, or are they doing vile things cuz they want to and use their "mental illness" to escape consequences? i have to say that in either case it takes balls (sorry, i just cannot think of a better word!) to act out the way J.D. did, and I'm not impressed or proud of him but i think he probably wanted somebody to be impressed - he took LIVES and altered the lives of who knows how many people... the victims and all those who knew the victims.. their world was shattered that day because this guy, jason, was bored and boring and wanted people to Notice him...he can't bring back the people who died or erase the suffering so i think he should get punished harder than he is now... and i don't know how, but hopefully karma police step in!!! haha!
