OMG Grand Valley Prison for Women is like a Golf Club Resort!! Each woman gets to order her own food and cook in a cottage she shares with a few other inmates. It is crazy the wonderful life they have in there!!! They wear regular clothing and so do the guards because they don't want to stigmatize them. SMH. I worked in that city in policing for over 30 years, so yeah I know.

Yes, our freezer was ok. It was packed full and had a few bags of ice in it. We don't have tornadoes, just very high winds and I think it was 70mph gusts. I live on an island in the Pacific Northwest. We have 3 acres (it's a rural island) and surrounding our house are 100' tall fir trees. Their trunks are maybe 12 to 16 feet in circumference. They have shallow roots and we live on good topsoil for about a foot and a half, and then it's just glacial silt, so I'm always terrified that they are going to fall. There are fallen trees all over; on properties and across the roads. Australia has scary things (mostly those ENORMOUS saltwater crocodiles...I'm feeling woozy just thinking about them) but you are lucky that you have springy kangaroos and adorable koalas. I'd like to see those in person some day. Way tmi, but thanks for asking! 💕
