Totally agree about the dispatchers; I know they're trained to talk slowly and calmly as a way of keeping the callers calmer, but they sound SO patronising!

Why is it that every time I hear someone make a 911 call, the dispatcher sounds dumb? I mean, Sam's Father tells the dispatcher that there is a dead body on his son's bed and she utters "Are you sure, Sir?" Are these dispatchers trained in how to handle situations that involve grief and shock?
