i was rereading the book and i had a little opinion on why lawrence is so dim with his family. so when his mom said "oh luka you picked up!" it sounded as if she was surprised he even picked up, adding another fact that lawrence maybe ignores every call she tries to make. i think this is connected to lawrences sister, lana. when he said that "it’s not like you remind me of her constantly" to his mother comparing her to lana, i inferred it could be connected to the disaster maybe.?. like maybe lana died during the disaster, and the family went through a lot of grieving and sadness. maybe lawrence wanted to exit himself out of this because maybe it was too much for him to intake and accept that his sister is gone. so maybe also he cuts out anything that’s remotely close to lana, which in this context, is his mom. so maybe that’s why he ignores her calls; doesn’t pick up

ogughghjghghfgh. oughghgh lawrence ouhhghhg... this is SO good. oh my goodness. i love your ewlat comics so much. i love your writing. wowza... oughgh god the new lawrence lore im crazy im CRAZZZY!!! ouhhh ... so excited to get more lawrence family moments. i figured his relationship with his family would be sort of rocky, considering he has cptsd and many people with cptsd form it during childhood..... ohh i can def see the Vision with his mom. maybe i'm wrong but just from the short little snippet here... i think maybe she does care, or tries to, but maybe not in the right ways... rough around the edges, not fully maternal like lawrence would hope. subdued passive aggressiveness that chips away at lawrence slowly over the years... she thinks she's being nice, being helpful in how she critiques, but to lawrence it really isn't any of those things. i'm sure it would lead to such feelings of inadequacy, even if he doesn't realize it for a long while. especially with his sister....ohhh.... i wonder, is she alive or dead?... i think either way lawrence clearly lives in her shadow. probably feels like the "lesser child" compared to lana. i find it interesting how they both have 4 letter "l" names. lana and luka. was luka/lawrence named after lana? even his name is marked by her, maybe. idk im rambling. but ouhh... that sibling trauma do NOT play. .... and ogughhg lawrence group therapy. my goodness...... this struck me so much because i just recently graduated from an intensive outpatient group therapy program that i'd been attending for months. and i know sometimes in group therapy i'd be thinking about ewlat, and how i can apply what i learned to my ewlat art. especially when it comes to lawrence art. i'd even draw ewlat stuff in my sketchbook there. it was a very interesting experience. but a good one. im glad i went truly..... ABNYWAYS MY GOD. SORRY IM RAMBLING IM CRAZY. I NEED TO STILL COMMENT ON THE OTHER COMIC BECAUSE I WAS INSANE ABT THAT ONE TOO. i love ur writing. ur dialog. love...ur arts....

I really liked pages 6 and 8 and that last page wow!! that was powerful. the city is draw so beautifully and the expressions and framing of everything is so good
