So few possible outcome stories have explored the psychological and emotional aspects of what Toriel and Asgore feel when he confesses to them. There’s no doubt that they will forgive and always love him, but they wouldn’t be able to just shake it off without any thought on it.

I hope To see Asriel let them know about it. Not letting them know you’ve killed them (because of the only justifiable reason granted) would make it impossible to move on because you’d always be afraid they wouldn’t love you anymore for what you did, and it would make you unable to be truly happy again.
