haha! Next time, Toriel will probably lecture them for hiding away in the closet. Indeed, he feels very vulnerable in his 'flower' state, and feels a little less like himself, despite not really changing personality wise. Too many memories attached to that flower, heh.

Poor kiddo. I'm really interested to see how his shift into Flowey affects his interactions with other characters; if the two phrases he's willing to give Toriel are any indication, he's more prone to shutting down and simply leaving a conversation than he is being short with people. hehe, I see the traditional safety closet is here in full force, too. Hiding from everything works in the short term, but ya'll gotta remember to go back to your beds before momma comes a'knockin'!

Oh okay. Has Toriel put together that Asriel looks a lot like the flower she blew away at the beginning of the game? Or is she repressing that memory out of fear she hurt her child?

Well, he is still Asriel, just a little grumpy because he's embarrassed about his mom seeing him like that, heh. There's a lot going through his mind when he changes back to Flowey. The next page shows Asriel's personality better I think.

His descent into madness as Flowey didn't happen instantaneously. It was the result of a long period of being unable to feel anything but desperately needing to feel something. The bad attitude didn't come about till a little while in, and the psychotic aspect didn't happen till years down the line when he'd become so desperate to feel anything for someone that he killed them and yet still failed to feel anything. I don't know, I don't see why he'd suddenly be aloof after one night considering he can still feel as shown in the last panel.
