I highly suggest downloading lessons and keeping on your computer in an organized file structure and print important charts to place in folders with plastic protective sleeves.
I HAVE THE FIRST ASSIGNMENT FOR YOU GUYS! I have given you a zip file in the musical science folder to be downloaded and unzipped. In there is a read me file called "about this chart," that tells you everything you need to know to print out my custom Harmonic Series chart and put it on your wall. In the same read me is a ton of primer information on the harmonic series and how to read this chart. Do not be intimidated if you don't understand the chart, I will explain it all in due time. Just follow the directions to actually make the chart and put it on your wall so we can start learning it. I would love to see you guys post a pic in this thread of how it looks on your wall once you assemble it. If you do not have a printer that has a "borderless printing" option then put the files on a USB key and take to a print shop. All directions are in the read me file for what to tell the print professional. There is a pc in the zipped folder called "how it should look," which shows how the chart should look when assembled from multiple sheets of paper. Post any questions below and pics of your chart once you finish assembling it and pin it up.

For my sensibilities, being primarily influenced by Indian Classical Music, I would consider the 15th harmonic being flat by any degree to be unacceptable. In the 22 shruti system, there are semitones that sometimes stretch higher and sometimes lower than the 12 main notes. They are utilized based on the raga. You don't just play higher or lower than the center of a note willy nilly. The exceptions are Sa/tonic and Pa/5th which have no classical deviations. Shuddha Ni/M7 has only a movement higher. Makes intuitive sense to me. We're as close to getting back to the root so if there's any deviation, it ought to be in the direction of resolution. If you hang out between M7 and the tonic and feel like creating any tension, who would flatten M7??? I can't imagine anyone.
Turns out that it is not consistent amongst those with synesthesia, except that supposedly the note C commonly corresponds to blue for them.
