⛤ September Q&A
🕑 Added 2023-09-29 18:54:26 +0000 UTCa sunny autumn morning, inching ever closer to October. in my head I'm brainstorming all the things I have to do today - plant my green onions, wash the cupcake containers I tell everyone to return instead of throwing them away, preserve moon water for an upcoming video, oh, and I'm overdue to vacuum from the looks of these floors. I don't make any decisions in this process, mind you, I simply let myself get distracted and the natural order of events sorts itself out. all I do is wait for the "yes, this feels right" feeling and an urge to act. I was told that's not how most people go about their day and I cannot fathom any other way of planning a schedule. but something has shifted in the energy around me lately. it feels as though roadblocks have finally dissolved and after decades of struggling to put my energy towards basic things, it just flows. like a curse that has simply... expired... I no longer feel anything holding me back. it's one of those things you didn't know could be different because it's been with you since you can remember. until one day it's gone. but since this is my first time experiencing a sensation of freedom of choice, I can only guess at where it will lead. time will tell.
Will we be seeing some outdoor videos eventually? You seem to have some really nice nature where you are. sure, I've been filming outdoor clips. I just don't have a good way of filming myself in an outdoor setting since the lcd screen of my camera doesn't flip out and my other camera isn't that good with video (autofocus is broken, anything more than 3 feet from the lens is blurry, etc). maybe once we're doing better financially I can invest in a vlogging camera and show you more things.
Ally do you have any favorite ASMR triggers? my favorite ASMR trigger is voices. you've got to have a good voice, anything else is secondary. especially since I prefer soft speaking over whispering.
Imagine your [Esc] reality channel did not exist. Would you start an ASMR channel in 2023? that is such a loaded question. every choice we make is dependent on our perception of the world at any time and the influences around us. if [Esc] reality did not exist, would I even still care about ASMR? would it have been a passing phase? experiencing this genre from a content creator perspective has no doubt played a part in keeping me interested in the topic for so long. would seeing the ASMR community change before my eyes the way it has in the past 5 years have altered my trajectory? we are influenced by so many little things we don't even realize shape our whole lives day in and day out. If I had never started doing ASMR, would I still have settled into my own style of creating videos? after all, photography and videography have been a passion of mine long before I discovered ASMR. I think that yes, I would still make an ASMR channel in 2023, but it would look different. say nothing had changed about my life except for the fact that I never bothered to make ASMR videos, I would still have watched the same channels I have been over the last however many years. many of them unrelated to ASMR but centered around my other interests. I think that I would have worked my other interests into my videos which means more esoteric stuff and less basic ASMR. I'd have more videos like my crystal healings and of the moon and waters and less gf roleplays, to the dismay of seemingly 90% of my former fan base. my videos would be way higher production value from the start, too. but since falling into my own style, I thoroughly enjoy creating beautiful videos and my love for aestheticism is intrinsic to me meaning a world where I am not creating beauty in some way shape or form does not exist. maybe one day I'll quit ASMR but I can never quit art.
Let's switch roles for a change: Is there anything you want to ask us? that's a tough one since I don't know who all will be reading this. I guess a question that anyone can answer would be: which video made you subscribe to [Esc] reality? I've always been curious what has drawn people to my channel since I've made such diverse content over the years.
Are we going to see some more caring-witch-friend roleplays? They were really good. sure. but they will be a little different. as I've mentioned before, I have developed a strange aversion to classic "caring friend" roleplays but at any given time I am sitting on several ideas for witchy videos so it's not a matter of if but when.
Ally do you know any good dream interpretation websites? I've only ever used dreammoods but be warned that their search engine has been broken for the last 8 years and at this point I don't think they'll fix it. so you'll have to browse your dream symbols alphabetically. with the symbols and their meanings you can then weave an interpretation of your dream experience that gives you insight into your inner workings.
Ally, I’m curious, if you didn’t know which country I’m from what would your first guess be? For sure somewhere in Europe. I wouldn't have guessed Sweden, but I would have placed you on the Eurasian continent easily.
those were some intense questions. thank you for taking the time to read my answers. as always wait for the next question dump here in a couple days in case you've thought of something else and I will get back to those chores that are waiting for me. what do you guys like to do on Fridays? I'm normally busy baking Wednesday and Thursday so I have a lot of cleaning to catch up on over the weekend. then again, I don't want to live in a world without chocolate orange cakes. I made 3.5 dozen of these that all went straight into friends' mouths.
as always wear your sunscreen and drink a glass of water so your kidneys won't be so sad and stressed. cheers 🍊
