The Game Changing Touchdown
🕑 Added 2019-06-05 22:54:38 +0000 UTCHope you guys enjoy! This is an old story I wrote that I changed a lil and turned into a caption because I was bored :)
Andrew Winfield reached out his hands and plucked the ball out of the air. Touchdown!!! The 6’ 2” Stonebrook high school senior and star wide receiver hauled in the game winning touchdown once again for his school. His teammates ran down the field and swarmed him, carrying him off the field, the crowd was going wild, the school was going to the playoffs for the first time ever, mostly on the back of Andrew.
On the other sideline was a different story, Gary Martin, the head coach, for Mountain High, slammed his clipboard on the ground and started cussing out his assistants. His team had never lost to Stonebrook, and it was all Andrew Winfield’s fault. “I swear I would fuck that kid up if I had the chance, he’s ruined everything.” All of a sudden, something clicked and Gary instantly didn’t feel as bad.
In the locker room Andrew was celebrating with his teammates, this why by far the best game of his career, and one the college football recruiters would surely look at. “Bro that throw was so sick” he said high fiving his quarterback. Andrew was kind of a meathead, but as the star of the football team that didn’t matter. He sat down to text his girlfriend and his side chick, hoping both would put out tonight. “Bro next week is going to be sick. We are playing them again and they are trash, I’m going to pop off,” the cocky teenager boasted.
However, in the days leading up to the game against Mountain High, Andrew wasn’t motivated to practice. Something was different inside of him. He had gotten shorter and his arms had gotten skinnier. His hair had started to turn blonde. Nobody really seemed to notice and girls actually started to compliment him more so he didn’t mind. He still tried to remain focused on the game coming up, as college scouts were ready to make him some offers if he had a good game.
2 days before the game Andrew was gone from practice. He felt bad ditching practice, but the mall was having a one day sale, and besides he had already done cardio this week. This was the craziest week on Andrew’s life, after his game winning touchdown, all of the girls wanted to be friends with him. He found them fun to hang out with at first, but he was starting to find them so childish. He found some new friends with some woman from the local country club, in fact they invited him to brunch after the game this weekend. Andrew graciously accepted and that’s why he found himself at the mall, trying to find some cute clothes to wear to brunch. He looked down at his phone and was surprised to see nobody cared he ditched practice. He shook it off and continued to shop.
It was gameday, and Gary had just finished hyping up his guys in the locker room. They were going to kill Stonebrook, he just had a feeling. As his team ran out onto the field, he looked up in the stands to see his wife Angie and his 2 children cheering him on. Angie was in a short pink lace romper. She sported a pair of 4 inch pink wedges that matched the color of her purse, which she was rummaging around in looking for a pack of gum. Her beautiful blonde hair and makeup was done to perfection, as most hair stylist’s hair would. She blew a kiss and winked at her much older husband. Even though Angie was 38 and Gary was 61, the two didn’t let age stand in the way of their love. Angie and her kids watched as Gary’s team destroyed Stonebrook. Angie oddly remembered something strange about the field, as almost if she used to play on it, but she couldn’t put her finger on it. Besides, that wasn’t possible, she spent her days at the salon or driving her kids around in her minivan. After the game Angie wrapped her arms around her bald husband and gave him a passionate kiss. "i'm so proud oi you baby!" She said resting her head in his chest, Gary drove the family home, as they celebrated he reached over and put his hand on Angie’s knee. Angie knew what that meant, and she couldn’t wait.
