I remember watching my grandmother making soap in a large wash pot. She used lard, that they rendered from hogs that my grandfather slaughtered. She used the crystal lye - Red Devil brand and water from their well. Sometimes she would add rose water or mint that she grew for fragrance. Certain batches, she put something in it that acted as an exfoliate. Felt like using Lava soap. I like your recipe!
