I see nothing that the Federal government will ever propose as effective (until maybe they implement term limits - which ain't gonna happen). This as I understand it would be on federal taxes. What happens to the state and local taxes for goods and services? If the government gets rid of one of it's agencies (IRS), they are surely going to replace it with something else. I mean, who would verify that we carry insurance at the start of tax season? They would absolutely create some type of Federal oversight to guide this proposal. I live in NC and until a few years ago, local and state taxes for goods purchased were the only thing we had to worry about. Then they implemented a tax on services (i.e. in addition to parts for an HVAC repair, we now have to pay taxes to the company for the actual labor provided as well - company never sees a dime as it goes to state coffers). They started requiring business to account for everything they have in their business (i.e. massage parlor - you must account for every towel you use in your business). Accounting became a hassle for my mechanic because there was some other requirement baked in about timekeeping. This would just be more mission creep IMHO.
