Its definitely a pickle. I have a significant amount in my 401K. If I take it all out I will get killed in taxes. If the dollar collapses it is all worthless. I agree gold and silver are a good wealth preservation strategy along with other physical assets. I've been slowly prepping since Y2K. I have never been more fearful of our future than the last year or so. God calls certain people in the end times to raise their voices of warning.
