Warm sunshine glinted off Amy’s freckled cheeks. Her bob bounced with each step she took on the pavement. Colors and lights from the amusement park games blurred by her. It was her favorite time of the year. Every summer Amy and her friends, Mindy and Laney, would go on a weeklong vacation together somewhere around the world. It was the first night of their vacation, and they’d decided to hit the local amusement park to spark up the festivities. With plenty of pre-gaming beforehand, they’d finally found themselves in the park and ready to just have some fun.
“Come on guys, you know Avalanche is the best ride in the park!” Amy said while motioning toward the tall rollercoaster in the distance. Amy loved the most intense coaster she could find. Her friends though weren’t exactly on board.
“Do you want me to die? There’s no way in HELL I’m going on that thing. Besides, I’ll have to piss by the time I’m ready to get on. Chugging 4 bud heavies before this can do a number on your bladder.” Laney said to Amy. She shrugged it off though and continued to convince her friends.
“Oh we’ll just go before we get in line. Guys you KNOW it’s gonna be tons of fun! What fun is an amusement park without going on the tallest ride in the park?!” Amy said, throwing her hands up slightly in response. Mindy and Laney locked faces and rolled their eyes at each other. Amy saw it and shot a dirty look at her friends. “Oh come on, you know I’m right.” Amy said back.
“Yeah yeah, come on. Don’t get your panties in a bunch over it. Let’s just do something fun first, something we can all agree on.” Mindy said to her friend. Amy let out a large sigh in defeat.
“Fine, whatever. What do you wanna do first then?” Amy said plainly. Laney’s eyes lit up instantly when she saw it.
“TEACUPS!” Laney shouted nearly at the top of her lungs. She pointed directly at the ride as they turned the corner. Amy’s face melted into boredom almost instantly.
“Really guys? Teacups? What are we 5 or something?” Amy said to her friends, but they were already pulling her in that direction.
“Don’t be such a prude, Amy. We’ll do something you wanna do at some point. Quit your bitching and lets just have some fun!” Mindy said before grabbing Amy’s arm. She pulled her over to the ride despite her protests.
“Fine.” She resigned to herself as they made their way to the queue. “Shit is for fucking babies, I swear to god that’s what they are sometimes…” She thought to herself. The wait was only a 10 minutes so it wasn’t a huge deal anyways. A quick in and out before heading to Avalanche.

“Should have pissed before we got on the ride…” Laney said to the girls as they waited in line.
“That’s what you get for chugging those beers in the parking lot…” Mindy said to Laney. She stuck a tongue out at her.
“Yeah and I’m working a pretty good buzz off of it now, so, jokes on you!” She said while subconciouly shifting her weight. Amy took note and noticed her own bladder in need of releasing.
“Fuck, yeah I kinda have to pee too.” Amy said to the group. Laney nodded and responded with, “Yeah we’ll hit a bathroom up after this.”
The three moved through the line and chatted about everyday life. What guys they wanted to fuck on tinder, how they wanted to work out sleeping situations in case they picked someone up at the park, etc. They got into the ride a few minutes later.
“How you doin’ sweetie?” The ride operator said to Amy as she walked by. She just turned her head and scoffed at the crass old man. He winked and stared down her ass as they walked to their teacup.
“Piss off, Creep.” She muttered to the rider operator. He just smirked at her as they made their way to a cup.
“You could sleep with him if you wanted, probably wouldn’t be too weird, he looks what… 65?” Mindy said before Amy slapped her friend on the arm. The three girls giggled at the exchange before the ride whirled to life.
“Let’s get this thing going!” Amy said before grabbing the circle in the middle to spin the cup. Her friends stopped her though.
“Not to fast, Amy! I have to fucking piss.” She said, placing her hand on the wheel to stop her from spinning it too fast. Amy slapped her hand away.
“Come on, let’s have some fun!” Amy said, ignoring her friend’s pleas. She started ripping the wheel around. The cup began spinning at an accelerated rate.
“Woah, slow it down Amy! What the fuck!” Mindy said, trying to get a grasp on the wheel, but the cup was spinning too fast. She couldn’t get a good grip.
“Haha! Now this is fun!” Amy said as the world kept spinning. The cup seemed to faster and faster with each pull of the wheel. The world spun fast around her. Soon the other rides and park-goers started to blur around her vision. They were going too fast.
“Oh… uh-oh…” Amy thought as the world kept spinning, it felt like it was getting into her head. She closed her eyes to get a grip on the situation. She could feel the centrifugal force pushing her into the cup. She felt like she was going to be sick. Her right hand shot to her forehead to help stable herself, but it did little to calm the motion sickness. “Uh.. Fuck… I’m gonna-“
*Ding*
Suddenly the cup stopped, and the world came back into vision.
“Huh?” Amy thought as her eyes flew open. The light from the sun glinted into her eyes.
“Wasn’t that fun!” Mindy said to Amy in a strange tone. It almost sounded like she was trying to excite Amy. Like she was talking to a 5-year-old.
“Yeah! You were going so fast, weren’t you Amy?” Laney said in the same condensing tone. Amy shot a quizzical look at her friends.
“Guys, what the hecky are you talkin’ bout?” She said, instantly caught off guard by her choice of words. The two girls helped Amy up and out of the cup.
“The ride, Silly! Wasn’t it tons of fun?!” Mindy said to Amy. She grabbed her hand once they were out of the cup. Amy let it linger for a second before pulling away.
“Why you tryin’ to hold my hand?” Amy said angrily. Mindy rolled her eyes and shot another look at Laney.
“She’s been acting so ‘Grown-Up’ today, huh?” Mindy said with a smirk and giggle to Laney. Laney nodded in response.
“First, she wants to go on all the rides, now she thinks she too big to hold someone’s hand in a crowd. She must think she’s all grown up now! Ha! Mrs. Longhurst said she’s been like that lately.” Laney said as they made their way to the exit.
“Mrs. Long- My Mom? What is going on?! Why the fugger nuggets are they treating me like my age- errg I mean like I’m ducking 4 or somethin’?” She wondered in her head. A comment from the ride operator brought her back to reality.
“Did you have fun, little one?! You looked like you did!” The rider operator said with a large smile. Amy just stood in the exit dumbfounded.
“I…” She said, trailing off and staring at the man.
“Oh, go off and have fun now, I’m sure you’ll have a lot of fun at the park.” He said again with a wink. His whole aura creeped Amy out.
“Come on, let’s go find another ride, Amy.” Mindy said to her, she tugged on her arm in response. Amy kept eye contact with the man for a few more seconds before turning away.
Amy’s head was going a million miles per hour as they walked through the park. “What is happening? Why can’t I say big kid words? Why is suddenly so hard to keep my mind from racing? And why on earth are they treating me like this?!” Amy thought. She was too up in her head to realize where they were walking deeper into the little kids ride section. A comment from Laney brought her back to Earth.
“Oh, didn’t she say she needed to use the bathroom before the ride? Do you wanna check her?” Laney said as the group stopped. Mindy nodded and turned to Amy.
“Sweetie, do you need to use the potty before we keep going on some rides?” She said, bending an inch to get them on eye level. Wasn’t she taller than Mindy? She couldn’t remember, but suddenly she was caught in a strangely confusing situation. She was completely caught off guard at that question.
She searched her body’s signals to answer that question. It all just seemed a little fuzzy now. She knew she should know the state of her bladder 100%, but it was tough to measure now for some reason. She clenched around her bladder and felt some pressure. Was that a sign she had to go? Or was that just how her bladder normally felt? She was genuinely unsure.
“I um… I don’t… I don’t know…” Amy muttered, looking around and kicking a little bit at the ground. She felt so small compared to Mindy and Laney all of a sudden. Like they were so much cooler and smarter than her.
“What was that, sweetie? Hm? Do you need to go?” Mindy said, pulling Amy closer.
“I… I don’t think so…” Amy said, honestly unaware if that answer was true of not. It sounded kind of adult though, and she didn’t want to let Mindy and Laney down. The sensation of a full bladder just seemed so foreign to her now. Like a distant language you kind of understood from high school. She really felt like she should know, but for some reason, she just couldn’t read what was coming from her bladder.
“Here let me check.” Mindy said, pulling Amy’s pants to the side. She unexpectedly shoved a finger down into her underwear and fished around for any wetness. She nodded and looked back up at Laney.
“Her pull-up is a little wet, wanna do one more ride before changing her? It’s used anyways. If she wets, she wets. No use in wasting it now I guess.” Mindy said to Laney. Laney nodded her head.
“Yeah that’s fine. Mrs. Longhurst said she’d probably wet a few times anyways. She just started potty training a few days ago.” She said. Amy’s face was in complete shock. Not only were her friends openly talking about her potty training like she wasn’t even there, but she was in pull-up. A full blown. Potty training pull-up.
“How did I get into this thing?! How did I not know?!” Amy wondered as she squeezed her thighs again. Sure enough, she could feel the damp sensation of the padding around her crotch. She felt embarrassment bubbling up inside her. It’s bad enough she didn’t realize she had been wearing a pull-up this whole time. But the fact that it was a WET pull-up? It sent shockwaves through her spine. She felt any rebellion inside her melt away to the towering Mindy and Laney.
“Why don’t we go on The Mitten, Amy? You said you wanted to go on it really bad before? Why don’t we do that then get you changed, okay?” Mindy said to Amy in yet another borderline baby talk tone. Amy just nodded her head in response. She felt nowhere in control of the situation anymore.
“Okay.” She muttered before the three made their way to the little kid rollercoaster. It wasn’t anything special. Just a small track with a 3-foot drop in the middle. Only two carts were on the track, one person per cart. The whole ride lasted less than 8 seconds. It was clearly designed for kids who were getting on their first rollercoaster. Amy knew in the back of her mind that it was for little babies. That someone like her shouldn’t even give the ride a passing glance. But for some reason, as they approached the ride, she felt a surprising emotion.
Fear.
She could feel her hand getting clammy around Mindy’s grasp. Her eyes were wide as the moon from how nervous she was from the incoming ride. She couldn’t even look at the girls as they stood in the queue. Mindy took notice.
“I can feel her hand is all sweaty, haha. She must be scared.” Mindy said to Laney. The two laughed at Amy’s fear to the small ride.
Amy wasn’t even paying attention to them. She was having a mild panic attack over the ride she was about to go on. Who thought it was a good idea to put her on a ride that intense? She looked around and tried her best to reduce stress building inside of her.
“This is no good, me gonna get 2 scawed.” She thought, her glance looked at the ride. It was too much, she looked away instantly. She tried taking some deep breaths to calm herself. The only relief was a warm feeling she felt around her crotch. It oddly soothed her.
It was clear as day that Amy was freaking out. She wasn’t doing very well at hiding her emotions. Mindy noticed and took it upon herself to check Amy’s pull-up again. She normally had an accident in situations like this. Amy didn’t even notice as she probed her underwear again. She looked up at Laney and mouthed, “Wet.” Laney just shrugged and nodded. They smirked at each other.
“Hey, it’s okay Amy. Don’t work yourself up. It’s going to be fine. The ride is safe, I promise!” Laney said to Amy to reassure her. Laney’s words washed over her like a wave of complete relaxation. Her muscles relaxed, and she felt herself opening up again. If someone as big as Laney was though this wasn’t a big deal, then she shouldn’t be worried either.
“Otay, me gonna do dis!” Amy said confidently, she even stomped her foot on the ground to show how big and strong she was. She felt chest bulge out in confidence as they got to the entrance of the ride.
“Alright, you get the front!” The operator said before plopping Amy into the first cart. As quickly as her confidence had come, it deflated instantly like a balloon. She looked to the right and saw Laney and Mindy cheering her on from the gates. She felt so lost without their guidance. Like she needed them to show her the way not just physically, but emotionally.
“Me no wanna!” Amy looked up and said to the operator. He smiled and patted her on the head.
“It’s only a few seconds darling, you’ll be alright!” He said, before heading back to the ride terminal. With a quick press of a button the ride lurched forward.
Fear struck through Amy like a lightning bolt. The incoming slope looked easily 80 feet tall. She was breathing deeply in and out, doing her best to keep from having a total melt down. Gone were any thoughts and worries about the strange situation she was in now. All she cared about was getting out of this ride and back into the safe arms of Mindy and Laney.
Her heart pounded with each passing second. She felt her head gently hit the back of the seat as the slight incline began. She did what any reasonable person would do in a state of this much fear and closed her eyes. If she couldn’t see it, then it couldn’t hurt her, right?
The clicking sound of the ride boomed in her ear. She felt her body getting to its limit. She needed out, she needed to stop this madness.
“Me no wanna be scawed. Me no wanna it. Me wanna be happy, me wanna no be.. no be…” She felt her mind racing to drastic measures as the cart peaked before it’s descent, her brain just said seemingly random thoughts, “Me no wanna be scawed, me no wanna be big, no wanna be scawed, wanna be… be…”
*Ding*
Amy opened her eyes. They were glossier than before. Her face looked relaxed, and a lazy smile grew on her face. “Naaa. Namnam.” She babbled as the ride reached its apex. Drool was running down her lip. A heavy stream of pee released itself into her already drenched diaper. She suddenly felt so much happier and better than before.
“Weeeeee!!!!” She gurgled as she suddenly felt like she was going fast. Like she was going hundreds of miles per hour on a raceway. It was simply amazing. So much better than the boring jumper her mommy put her in at home.
The ride quickly turned the corner and came to a halt back at the station. Amy did her best to express her joy by squealing and clapping her hands together.
“Namamam!” She yelled out to her babysitters.
“Good Girl, Amy! Wasn’t that fun! Oh yes it was, yes it was!” Mindy said to the girl as they clipped her out of the seat. Amy beamed in pride.
“Who’s a big girl? Hm? You are! You’re the big girl!” Laney said as they guided her out of the cart. They noticed the pool of pee dripping down to the bottom of the cart once Amy got out. Laney shot a sorry look at the operator.
“No problem, happens all the time to these ones.” The operator said. Mindy and Laney thanked the man and brought Amy toward the exit.
“Well now little one, we need to get you in a fresh diaper, and new pants! Look how stained these are!” Laney said, pointing toward the wet circle around Amy’s crotch, and dark streaks down her leg. Amy lazily took notice. Nothing really made sense to her. She just let the words of these big kids go through her.
The sensation around her body felt strange though. Somewhere deep in her mind, somewhere deep below babyish thoughts and feelings, something felt strange. Like she when her diaper felt too messy. Or when her mother didn’t give her a pacifier. It made her suddenly very upset. The emotion took her quickly, and with zero emotional discipline, she started to cry.
“Oh no, oh baby. Is someone upset they went potty all over themselves? Hm? It’s okay, we’re gonna get you cleaned up!” Mindy said. Amy wouldn’t let up though. Her waterworks turned into a full-blown meltdown in the park. It was just so easy to let the emotions do the talking. She wailed and screamed in front of hundreds of guests.
“Jeez, come on. Let’s get her out of here.” Laney said to Mindy. She nodded and scooped the girl up. The girls quickly took her out of the park and back to the car.
***
Amy didn’t calm down until she finally got her diaper changed and was clipped into her car seat. Even then, the sniffles didn’t stop until she had a pacifier in her mouth.
“Too young, maybe in a few years we can take her.” Mindy said to Laney. She just scoffed and laughed.
“We’ll be graduated in a year; you think I’ll be taking babysitting gigs back home? Bitch, I’m gonna be working at Google.” Laney said. Mindy laughed and agreed.
“Yeah you’re right, our days of watching rugrats like Amy is pretty much over.” She thought, getting a glimpse of the girl in the back.
Amy didn’t even respond. She was asleep, dreaming about a life she didn’t understand, slowly sucking away at her pacifier. The diaper around her waist already in need of yet another change.
