Summer

“Gosh it’s like you’re not even trying.” Your mother said to you in a huff. You shuffled, embossed at how frustrated she sounded. It was like she was talking to a fussy toddler. She undid one of the tapes on your absolutely soaked diaper. The front was so wet that it flopped right onto the changing table the moment it wasn’t supported by the tapes.
“I am trying…” You mumbled half-heartedly. I mean come on, who was she kidding? You were a grown man. There was no way you had “Lost your potty training” or anything like that over the past few months.
Sure, your parents had found your stash of diapers when you came home from college in the summer. Your parents were furious. You could hear your mother’s voice echoing in your mind now, “Well if that’s what you want, then it’s going to be a long summer for you!”
At first you were ecstatic. A whole summer of diapers?! It’s literally an AB/DL’s dream to be diapered 24/7 for an entire summer. All the stories you read. All the forums you’d been on for the past 8+ years. The hair was standing on the back of your neck. It was going to be amazing.
And it was… At least for the first few months. Until you had your first accident.
The moment was so nonchalant too. Your mother came in, sticking her annoying finger around the waist band of your diaper. “You can hold a little more.” She’d muttered before walking out of your room. It didn’t register with you at first. You were too busy playing Smash online to pay attention. You subconsciously squeezed your legs together. Sure enough, you were wet. Your eyes widen once the weight of what just happened hit you. You had just wet yourself. Unknowingly. While you were zoned out playing video games.
It was inevitable really. The moment your mother taped you into YOUR first diaper. You didn’t even try to hold it. The moment an urge pinged in your bladder; you were already letting go. Using the toilet like a big kid went to the waste side immediately. Give an AB/DL the chance to wear diapers all day every day, and they’ll be constantly soaked.
You started paying more attention after that. It was genuinely difficult to catch yourself from just flooding your diaper 24/7. You would feel the urge and just instinctively let loose. You knew it was wrong and that you should stop yourself there. But there was something in you. Something deep down.
You didn’t want to be potty trained. Your deepest fantasy always had, and always will be, loosing all that silly potty training of yours. So of course, you did try to keep tabs on your weakening bladder. You knew that an adult like yourself shouldn’t need diapers. But. You just… weren’t trying all that hard to stop the rapidly quieting signals from your bladder.
You hopped off the changing table and went right to your room. “Okay, one more day like this, and then I’m going to try to actually make it to the toilet.” You resigned to yourself. Your felt embarrassed to even have to say that to yourself. But your shrugged. You didn’t have a problem… No grown adult does… of course not. Your switch booted up. You instantly jumped into Animal Crossing.
“Hey. Mom told me to change you.” You suddenly heard from the back of you.
“Huh?” You said, swiveling your head around. Your little sister stood there with an adult diaper in her hand. You immediately snapped your head back and defended yourself. “I’m not wet. I don’t need a change” You said with confidence. You didn’t have to check. You never felt the need. And besides, it had only been like what? One, maybe two hours since your last change? Your sister sighed and took a step closer.
“Come on. She just told me you needed a change. She checked you like 5 minutes ago.” She said, crossing her arms.
“Wha-?” You said, pausing the game and turning back toward your sister. The motion of your legs confirmed it all. You were wet. On the verge of leaking, actually. “Fuck, I didn’t even…” You thought to yourself. You trailed off trying to remember when you wet. When you mother even came in to check you. For the life of you, you couldn’t remember a moment of either. Embarrassment erupted inside of you. You felt the tides of your adulthood dwindling away. You had to prove to yourself that you were big. Your emotions snapped back. You weren’t some little kid in diapers like your sister. You immediately defended your adulthood in front of your sister.
“Yeah well. You can’t change me if you’re still in diapers too!” You said. It sounded smart in your head. For some reason you felt an urge to stick out your tongue, but you fought off that feeling. Your sister just rolled her eyes. Her free hand shot down to her waistline. She pulled her pants down for a moment and shot a look at you.
“I’ve been out of diapers for the past week now.” She said. Her panties stared back at you menacingly. You knew she’d been potty training this summer, but you had no idea she was already done. She was 0% potty trained in May. How had it happened so fast? Her panties were only a few feet from you, yet they seemed years away. She let the diaper flop open in front of you. You were absolutely stunned.
“Now.” She said, letting her waistband snap back into place. “Are you gonna let me put this diaper on you, or am I going to have to get mom?” She said, placing a hand on her hip.
You felt yourself practically shrink. Any adulthood you had in that moment vanished. You didn’t even know what to do. Your body seemed to react for you. Slowly you felt your back sinking to the floor. Your eyes stared up into the ceiling as you felt your diaper warm again. You needed comfort. Something to take you out of this moment.
That’s when you found your thumb. Surprisingly in your mouth for some reason. A place it would stay for quite some time. Even well after the summer months were over.
