Dimitri and Khalid continue their dive into Bob Dylan’s mysterious career, including:
The mystery around Dylan’s drug use in the late ‘60s, the Richard Fariña/Bob Dylan motorcycle crash synchronicity, odd Synanon/Lenny Bruce references, Dylan’s aborted Soviet concert scheduled for August 1966, the evangelical Vineyard Movement recruiting burnt out Laurel Canyon rockers, Hal Lindsey’s “The Late Great Planet Earth”, Bob getting bullied out of putting “fucking religion” on his records in the mid-1980s, sus Skull & Bones poet Archibald MacLeish courting Dylan for his musical “Scratch”, Dylan thinking the play was “up to something and I didn’t want any part of it”, Frederick Vanderbilt Field and Fabian socialism, why Americans have fixated on entertainers as their primary political/spiritual leaders since the 1960s, hunger for access to the Real, the rise of “paracontent”, Dylan’s extremely belated JFK assassination ballad, Chomsky’s ont-opped critique of Dylan, and more.
