I love this episode and actually has Reigen as a great representation of depression. The way he lost interest and curiosity in the world, felt no passion, having no friends, lying and portraying yourself as someone your not because of self loathing. Mob gave him passion and friendship but he is still struggling, leading to his blow up at Mob. But seeing Mob working hard to improve himself inspires him to do the same.

I don't think payment is important in their relationship, I'm sure Reigen will give mob's share once mob is an adult.

Omg Kenny the flapjack reference was spot on! Loved that show but when I was younger didn’t click in how creepy it was compared to the other shows that was going on at the same time like chowder 😂

And Reigen. Man Reigen doesn’t care that the whole world hates him. He cares that Mob hates him. Reigen doesn’t care that he scammed the whole world. He cares that he scammed Mob. Reigen doesn’t care that he lied to the world. He cares that he lied to Mob. And Mob. Mob is such a beautiful lil guy. He’s so wholesome😫Mob sees Reigen for what he is. And that is someone trying to do good. Cause Reigen taught him that what matters is kindness and what’s in your heart and he’s seen first hand that Reigen is kind and truly cares for Mob’s wellbeing.

This is my favorite anime episode. What Reigen said to Mob last episode is not okay. But man their relationship is the best master/student relationship in anime. Mob starts out so powerful. He doesn’t need someone to teach him how to use his powers or control them. And Reigen can’t provide that. But Mob is mentally stunted and Reigen helps him grow as a person and become mentally mature. “A great student learns from his teacher. A great teacher learns from his student.” And this is exactly what happens. Reigen is exactly what Mob needs and Mob is exactly what Reigen needs.

This episode is the heart of the show IMO, and might be my favorite anime episode of all time. Just an absolute masterpiece of writing to make such an incredibly sweet arc without making it saccharine. As someone that relates a lot to Reigen - mid 20s and feeling aimless in my career - this episode is a lovely reminder that all you ever need is a Mob in your life, and that you have to be that person’s Reigen to deserve them ❤️
