Living for Devindra's Oliver & Company reference

I am so late in this but I really did appreciate Adam Driver's commitment to his Suspiria-esque dance sequences

On the topic of beautiful animation, this YouTube video does an incredible job of explaining the history and giving examples of hybrid animation. I highly recommend giving it a watch! https://youtu.be/n0P1y5bCl04?si=5occ6zaj9AHmgdkO

Hearing Jeff talk about how much he enjoys Looney Tunes vibes opening a movie…Hope they call back to this on the Joker 2 episode.

I second the English Teacher rec. It comes from Brian Jordan Alvarez, with acting & some writing by Stephanie Koenig—both of The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo (& other YouTube fame). The show is such a continuation of their decade+ of work together; if you're into their comic style, you won't be disappointed! 😍🔥 Megalopolis was a disappointment. I'm glad I got to see it in theaters, though.

Devindra on Dandadan: for those of you who have been disillusioned by anime recently. Me: Yeah, I have, because of all the oversexualized situations involving teenagers. *looks up info Dandadan* Yeah, this does nothing to change what I have been disillusioned by….

Wolfs gang rise up.

Thanks Devindra for the recommendation. Dan Da Dan was awesome and exactly what I was looking for in a new anime. Thanks!

People with too much money.

Using Devindra bringing anime back on the podcast to resurface my suggestion for Jeff to PLEASE WATCH MILLENNIUM ACTRESS. That is all, thank you! Looking forward to listening to the rest of the episode :)

"you only want it if everyone else wants it" should be the subtitle of our culture

Yall should check out Harmony Korine’s Aggro Drift as an example of something that is actually using new technologies to push the medium forward.

Fair point, I will try to clarify. -DChen

I had 5 people walk out of my screening, including a father that brought his two early teens sons (wtf?) Imagine how awkward it would have been for me and the other two dudes left in the theater to figure out who was going up to ask the Alexa a question. Shia’s #1 henchman having a N*zi symbol tattooed on his forehead was definitely a choice.
Mountain of Conflict
Well, he didn't so are you going to delete your stupid comment?

The Instigators was excellent

Pretty sure the story I heard was that the art department and VFX teams walked out on Megalopolis, they weren’t fired as David Chen put it.
Jay Wood
Hearing Chen wanting a ps5 pro just to avoid being in a wait for something he doesn’t even want is like bonkers to me.

Mr. McMahon was executive produced by fellow podcast or Bill Simmons. Jeff may enjoy this podcast episode that talks about the making of. https://pca.st/episode/7f0bf749-4dde-430b-a4eb-fce3f50f8960

Didn’t listen to this episode yet but I would bet my house that Devindra will say that he wanted there to be more scenes with Nathalie Emmanuel and/or Aubrey Plaza. He will also be very very offended at how they were treated despite it being part of the overall story.

For SEO you might want to say “Dan Da Dan.” Not to be THAT guy.
