Support Update Video
🕑 Added 2017-05-23 16:24:31 +0000 UTC Hey all!We normally give you advanced viewing privileges on new videos, but this one was more of a call to action entry, and you have already taken the greatest action we could ask for, supporting us here. Still, it's a cute little video that you may enjoy watching, so here it is. We've got another new video coming out this week that you will be able to see before anyone else, as per usual, and we have some other fun surprises in store for you. As always, thank you so much for your continued support. We honestly wouldn't have made it this far with you.
We love you,
Zak + Craven

T-shirt ordered! I can't wait to use my torso as your ad space.
I think I sense another gibberish remix coming from a super cut vlog.

It's definitely the preferred technique. I think they mostly do it because they can't memorize big chunks of script and come off as natural. I have to say though, even jokingly I can see why they like it
K so I dont watch a lot of yt personalities. (Or any). So is the jump cut thing like a jab at how much vloggers jump cut to keep the audience glued to the screen but looking at something they think is different just because its not the same arrangement of pixels?

Great job guys!
The John Williams bit reminded me of how Frank Zappa once got hit with an "Explicit Lyrics" sticker on one of his instrumental albums.
Your content is consistently LEGENDARY. My gf and I will be bumping Auralnauts tunes on our way to the White Mountains this weekend.

David is about as close as one can get with Youtube's confusing ad rev formula. The most we've ever made in one month was probably around 2k, but our most recent payout was around 300 bucks. However our best month of ad rev was never sustainable for Auralnauts as a full time operation, which is the dream goal.

Dude...you are LEGEND
Fuck YouTube. I upped my pledge and will keep it there as long as it is financially feasible. Love you guys to the Laser Moon and back!
I wish I had seen this Patreon sooner. Shut up and take my money!

I was curious about this too so I googled it: it depends. Not all videos have ads and they get nothing unless the viewer watches either 30s of the ad, or clicks on the ad. "Roughly, a video creator will earn $2,000 for every million views. " And then YouTube takes 45 percent" So... doing the math on the view count for all their videos is: too much work. I would guess 7M views in 6 months ~ $2k / mo * 45% = $1k/mo assuming they get to monetize everything, which they don't. Patreon charges a 10% commission on a monthly income higher than that. Keep in mind this is all uninformed guessing. Tentative conclusion: patreon wins

Okay. Time to ask the big, stupid question. What would the amount be to replace the YouTube content monetization you had before every studio started exercising the KA-BLOCK! function? Is the Patreon funding coming anywhere CLOSE to that?

We've actually pitched some game related content to game driven networks that were interested in collaborating with us, but they passed on all of them. We'd love to work with games more, and we started dabbling with it in the Kylo Let's Plays. Full blown Red vs Blue style stuff would be super fun though. Zak is a big Destiny crack-head, so maybe we can work something out for 2.

I've been meaning to ask you guys about your thoughts on focusing towards video games instead of movies/tv. The game industry doesn't give a flip about people showing their games on youtube in their full form, so I would expect it to be a lot less stress. But you do what you gotta do. If games aren't your wheelhouse and don't further your goals, then I respect your choice to do what works best for you.

Teachable moment: DO NOT RUN AFOUL OF BIG WILLIAMS.

Patreon goal 1: peach orchard.

We try to keep the jump cuts to a minimum, but we get why they exist. So useful!
Auralnauts
We actually joked about that when we included it

I'm sorry you guys are getting screwed by Youtube. All I can do is support you any way I can. Fighting Google is like trying to destroy Lazer Moon without any moldy peaches. It just doesn't work.

Keep up the great work guys, I'm in the shirt market so I'll help out. Bummer about the yt stuff, hear the same garbage from a lot of the other channels I'm subbed to. Any video you make can have random popups of Zach in it as far as I care. Not sure about the jump cuts all over my face tho...
Man, I hope you guys don't get a copyright strike for that split-second flash of Episode 6. Knowing YouTube, it's probably gonna happen. Probably by John Williams.
Auralnauts
I've been playing a lot of Dark Souls 3, so this is more or less how I picture John Williams <a href="http://bit.ly/2qd2b5n" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://bit.ly/2qd2b5n</a>

We love you guys, too. But that John Williams, he is not to be trifled with. He doesn't look it, but he is a bloodthirsty netherdemon just waiting to be unleashed upon the world of the living.
