Dear Patrons,
I am very pleased to share HMS Victory Part 2. This 29 minute video covers many aspects of the British navy and naval war in the Napoleonic age - from the composition of the crew, to points of sail, tacking and wearing ship, kedging, warping, the watch system, gunnery tactics, the crew's diet, navy discipline and more! This video, even more than usual, is packed with historical detail, and you get to see it a full 9 days before everyone else.
I hope you enjoy the video, and I look forward to your thoughts and feedback. Merch for Typos is in effect - first person to spot one and let me know here in the comments gets any item from the merch store as thanks.
Our HMS Victory series is now concluded. Next up, more Napoleon! Thank you to everyone who took part in the recent polls. As decided here on Patreon, the next topics will be Napoleon in Italy 1796, and the Battle of Eylau.
More updates soon, and thank you for your support!

Thank you AJ, and great to have your support! Would definitely like to cover more aspects of the naval war, probably some of the specific battles in detail next, so stay tuned..
I thoroughly enjoyed both videos on HMS Victory and naval warfare during the Napoleonic era. I've read extensively on naval warfare from WW1 on, but very little before - now I want to read more about naval warfare during the age of sail. Many Thanks!
Just joined Patreon for this, having caught the first on YT. This HMS Victory series has me utterly hooked. I really like it, everything is perfect, from the information, the visuals and audio. Is there any way we can get more Royal Navy/Imperial Era naval content? The detailed description of how the ship is run and organised is so interesting. I'm about to head out to my local bookshop to see if we have any good naval history books I can buy. Thanks for this.
