I feel like "The War of the Roses" should be mentioned as an anti-rom-com while still being a (dark) comedy.

Blue Valentine, Like Crazy, 500 Days of Summer, Celeste and Jesse Forever, and maybe even Easy A and Friends with Benefits etc., all came out around the same era and it definitely felt like a trend.
