Just want to say THANK YOU for including a queer woman's voice on this review of BOTTOMS. BJ Colangelo's insights and perspectives brought some valuable points and counterpoints to the discussion. (And her essay provided additional framing through which to view the movie.) I've seen the movie three times (first time was last June at the Provincetown Film Fest), and have laughed ny ass off everytime; but more than than that, each viewing has helped me appreciate how funny even the production design, costumes, and "smallest" of supporting performances are, contributing to the over-the-top, subversive yet affectionately nostalgic vibe of the film.
