(Addendum: I don’t think that’s leyland’s ceramic collection, the freer just put up a bunch of random pots not good enough to really display elsewhere, plus random medieval Persian ceramics I think?

I don’t know if they still do this but for a while they’d actually open the shutters the third Thursday of every month so you can see it in natural light. BTW the photos make it look a lot brighter/lighter, irl the gold is this darker and richer thing and the background blue-green is this dense like…darkened malachite is the best word I have for it. Anyhow you should see it in person, the rest of the museum is a fantastic little museum of Asian art.
