So, I figured out a way to listen to the bonus videos from a podcast app. Castro allows”sideloads” and using this was how I can now listen via my podcast app by pulling over the YouTube video as a sideload. No need to pay for a YouTube membership.

I had an old product manager who was in the National Guard during the first Iraq war. It ended before he deployed, but he did do some wargames ahead of that and said he had a pretty good time in the Abrams, but the infantry got pretty disheartened because all they did was sit in the Bradleys and get told they had died.

You should do another episode on the ASV. I was a mechanic in the US Army and one of the first groups to go to training on this vehicle when it was introduced. Part of this training included a warning that under heavy braking, the roof hatch latches could fail when the hatch was in the open position causing a several hundred pound metal door to slam into the back of the driver's and/or passenger's head/neck potentially killing them. I have many stories on this and other military vehicles if you are interested.

If I remember right, the German half track were what you think, basically tank tread with wheels out front for gentle curves. They operate on their own like a tanks. They’d work without those wheels. Us Americans thought that looked cool... so we just made the back wheels of a truck longer and flatter. The tracks are effectively just that, spun by the axle of what would’ve been the back wheels

If you ever want to experience what it is like being a civilian working on a military contract. Just imagine building something for group of cats.... All of which like to take infighting to the Nth degree... All of which have different ideas on what the thing should look like and do... and ONE cat who likes to knock over your coffee cup onto the "as build" drawings...while screaming “I don’t like it Start again”.
