Is this the only review of the last duel from the filmcast? I can't seem to find a proper review of it. I only just saw it and was interested in seeing what the guys thought of it.

I also didn't see the Last Duel. It just doesn't look like fun. Professionally, I am fascinated by how bad the marketing/advertising is for The Last Duel. The Last Duel is bombing because it's perfect four-quadrant marketing poison. When your tagline is "maybe a rape," it makes the movie a hard sell. This one is even worse due to the script and talent externalities. Even without the central sexual assault, maybe, The Last Duel is a four quadrant hard sell: Young men don't care that much about Damon because half his recent movies are like The Great Wall and don't seem to respond to grimdark Affleck; it's depressing to think about the end of the chivalric era Young women don't want to be saved by either one of these mullets* and they seem to prefer Jodie Comer as an active lead Older men realize it's hard to maintain adult friendships and don't want to watch Damon and Affleck fight, especially over a complicated relationship with a woman Women over 25 don't want to be saved by these mullets and the last thing they hard about Matt Damon was problematic while Affleck getting back with Jlo doesn't seem to resonate I think the only way you could have saved this film's marketing would be to sell it as real life Hunger Games: three nobles forced into conflict by an outdated system that doesn't care about them. Anyone else have a better idea? (*I used to have an Epic Mullet)
