So I started watching WandaVision yesterday and finished it today and while saying it "sucked" is a bit to harsh I didn't find it that compelling at all. Had I started watching it according to Disneys schedule I would have given up after the first episode. The only thing that kept me pushing through was the perception I had gotten that there was some awesome twists and turns and so on. I was actually a bit surprised that David liked it so much because my and David opinions >95% of the time aligns pretty perfectly. In any case I found the show bland, uninteresting and not that funny. Me not finding it funny is probably because I am a Swede that has no relation to the references that sitcom format in WandaVision is built on. For reference I find most MCU movies bland and uninteresting (my favorite by far is Winter Soldier). So yeah, for whatever reason WandaVision didn't work for me and I have already started forgetting it. *SPOILER FOR WANDAVISION*I found the show fairly predictable. Sure Quicksilver was a bit of a surprise but it didn't really change the show that much. He could just as much not been there. And the Agatha thing I didn't see coming but it still didn't change the nature of the show that much.*END WANDAVISION SPOILER* I might have had a different experience if I had followed it weekly but as I said above I probably wouldn't have gotten past the first episode.

I just want to say I find it so fascinating that you hear David cutting people off too much but I actually hear David being cut off the most (particular by Devindra even!) I’m not saying this to invalidate your thoughts or say that you’re wrong. I just thought it was so interesting as 2 listeners that we hear different things. Probably some subconscious bias coming in to play most likely.

Dear Slashfilm Cast, I'm a longtime listener, patron of a few months, but a first time commenter. Over the years I've grown to love both you and the show. But today I'm writing because I'm noticing a pattern that seems to be getting worse and affecting the show. Dave Chen, who is responsible for leading the conversations, has gotten more and more negative with his opinions. Perhaps this is a byproduct of the trauma of a global pandemic, which is completely understandable. And yes, art should entertain us and has the ability to challenge us. By doing that, art can be hit or miss for viewers. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. But in the instances of Dave's persistent negativity, it's seems less so his opinion but more of a reflection of society's unwritten rule that in order to signal your intelligence one must criticize something rather than build it up. In some ways, Dave's criticism would even be acceptable to me were it not for the fact that he's cut off other people more and more - in particular Devindra. Whenever someone calmly disputes a claim of Dave's, his response tends to be short and dismissive. This latter is more in connection to Jeff. I understand that there's friendship there and you all bust balls. That's fun. But being dismissive of ideas and busting balls are 2 different things. Lastly, the air of negativity has also lowered the depth of the discussion. I love the Slashfilm Cast because it's a show that deep dives movies in a way other movie podcasts don't. So I want to hear discussion about the various plot points, cool making of facts, etc. In spite of the shows being sometimes longer than they used to be years ago, the ground covered during a movie's conversation merely scratches the surface. I realize hearing this assessment may come off as harsh. It's not meant to. My aim is to be direct with you all so nothing is misinterpreted. I write it because I love the show and much like you I want it to be the best it can be. After all, I've put my money where my mouth it. As such, I hope you'll respect me enough to at least consider the validity of what I've brought up. Thank you.
