Kinda both? Elder Gen Z here (born in 98)- can’t say child me was ever particularly worried about losing my head tho I def do recall being unnerved by the girl w/ the green ribbon story. I was absolutely led to believe that quicksand was more of an everyday problem than it is tho. I personally was also very worried about getting pompeied and was terrified of volcanos-not sure how specific that was to me tho lol
