I listened to the episode yesterday and i have to thank you so very much for running this at the time you did, I am running a session for my players that are attempting to grow to godhood to stop an eldritch elder god from invading the material plane and they where planning to recruit a floating sky giant church and the army of its god, but diplomacy bores them and i wanted something to spice it up with so now my army of sky giant paladins is being besieged by an army of demons.

It would be really interesting to see Moonshines reaction to the current state of Bahumia and the impact their decisions have had in a few hundred years. Especially since Moonshine stressed so much in C1 about the rramifications of alot of their decisions given that the whole theme of C1 was the same thing except in the aftermath of the Legendary Heros campaign.

Also just gunna say it for the 100th time. Murph you monster you know the injustice you did to Old Cobb killing him unceremoniously off camera. Bringing back Bahumia's best dad is only a start in rectifying that.

They have to do something with that story. The fact that this campaign is the PC's dealing with fallout from decisions made by the Boobs in C1 and the Boobs, Moonshine especially, are just gallivanting around in space instead of fixing the problems they created comes off as so out of character. There has to be some larger glimpse given to the conflict in the astrastral plain that gives some insight into why it feels like the Boobs have abandoned Bahumia.

Love the ep. Was hype when I realized Robert was Bobby. Murphy for summoning the allies for the final fight. Baldurs gate 3 has a mechanic where for the final fight you can spend an action to call/summon allies to the field. (Example summon 2-3 fighters or archers to provide support, summon a monster or construct available, or request 1 big healing spell for the whole fight)

This was my favourite episode of C3. Another example of Murph being truly unrivalled in encounter design. Played it clean. Told us HP/damage/rolls and just balanced it perfectly. And yet more impressive In story telling and hyping up his players and their choices. + the reveal at the end felt perfect.

The battle was so expertly balanced. Like, both mechanically and story-wise. I wrote to a friend who doesn’t listen to the show like - Murph just gave them two giant flying monsters with an insane breath weapons i’m scared of what’s to come. And listening to the wall almost being taken down was almost scarier than characters falling in while battling a dragon king because there is no healing potion for that, and the consequences of that are so so so bad. And then to win in the last possible second and meet Balnor. It made me so happy.

Ok has anyone else ever met the vampire ranger in the Berkshires? We went backpack camping once and there was a ranger who had a display of furs, but it was a nighttime ranger activity showing us bones and furs. He even said he did nighttime star walks for folks on certain days. He definitely had sharpened canines… but he was very nice and very knowledgeable!

re: ghosts in the woods. I once was a counselor walking along a path that kids were NOT allowed on late at night. Had my headlamp on. Saw some kiddos up ahead and the both froze, I turned my light off… and they ran back to their cabin screaming. I didn’t say anything because I wasn’t technically supposed to be there. Makes me chuckle a little tho
