So doing some math, assuming a solid oak door weighs 67 lbs (for a door of average size) you'd need to eat about .36 lbs of door a day to get out of jail in 6 months. 3-4 pounds of food per day total is pretty common for Americans, so you're replacing a good chunk of your daily food with door (assuming you're replacing instead of adding.) it is low enough that if you ground it into a fine sawdust you could probably mix it in with sauces and pastas and stuff without it being *too* intrusive, but still enough that if you just tried to eat it straight you'd have a terrible time.

re: sonic media, i NEED yall to check out the song One Ok Rock made for the newest sonic game, called Vandalize. bcos imo it's right in that perfectly confusing but not bad choice. the song is amazing, i already listened to & love One Ok Rock, they put on the best live show i've ever seen! but go listen to Vandalize & tell me you would ever assume it was made for sonic unless you already knew! the uncensored version obviously bcos the difference between the normal song & what actually got put in the game is hilarious

For a standard size oak door that is 80”x36”x1” , the volume would be about 0.05 meters cubed. The density of oak wood is around 700kg per meter cubed. Therefore the door would weigh around 33kg (or 72.75 lbs) If you ate an equal amount of the door every day for two years, you would have to eat about 45 grams of door per day. Thus, for the door option to be worth it, you would have to know that you are able eat more than 45 grams (or 1.6 oz) of wood per day consistently. (That amount is about equivalent in weight to two nature valley bars) Do with this information what you will.

an extremely fatal flaw of the door question is that it's made of oak. some actual power tools have trouble getting through it. your serrated knife? done. your apple peeler?
