I really don't think I've ever heard anyone say the podracing scene was bad. I kinda thought the general consensus was always that the podracing scene and the Darth Maul fight were the only 2 awesome parts.

The other hilarious thing is that JarJar was originally supposed to be the actual "phantom menace," but the general dislike of him as a character made G.L. pivot and create Count Dooku to be the Sith Lord instead. But I will always wonder how "Count Binks" could have been.

I grew up with the prequels loved them. Rewatched them in my early 20s when the new movies were about to come out. I hated them on rewatch I don't think I liked a anything about them. Kinda ruined starwars for me.
